MyIN-user-and-broker

UX Case Study: MyIN

MyIN is a centralized platform for accessing events in the city whether it’s a club, concert or sporting event.

By connecting users to promoters or clubs directly through the application, getting access to events and services is easier and entry is guaranteed.

User-MyIN-Broker connection

Challenge

  • Build a system that allows users to select a range of concerts and sporting events, specify their seating preference and set a price
  • Create MyIN Broker to allow verified brokers to register, view outstanding requests and message users if they have inventory meeting the user's requests
  • Create a system for payment and securing tickets sold

Research

Research Techniques

  • Surveyed sports and concertgoers
  • Interviewed brokers
  • Comparative and competitive analysis
  • Industry research

Research Insights

  • Tickets to popular sporting and concert events are often sold out at the box office
  • Excessive fees and marked up prices on resale tickets
  • Concerned that buying resale tickets that turn out to be fake and will be turned away at the venue gate
  • Ethics

Planning

User Stories

"As a sports fan and concertgoer, I want to find valid resale tickets so that I can attend a concert that interests me."

"As a ticket broker, I want to find people who are looking for tickets to attend the city's hottest sporting event or concert so that I can clear my inventory."

Features

  • Using our existing MyIN User interface to allow users to browse and search events
  • Allow users to request tickets by specifying where they would like to sit and how much they want to pay
  • Allow users to view requests, edit requests and check offers from brokers in their Messages & Requests section
  • Allow brokers to respond and ensure their offer meets customers requests. Users can Accept, Deny or Ask for alternatives (allowing 2 way communication in app)
  • Allow users to pay in app and obtain instructions on how their tickets will be delivered (mail or digital copy).

Conclusion

  • Sporting and concert events integrated with the existing MyIN bottle service mobile app for a centralized entertainment platform to the city's hottest events
  • Users set the parameters of purchase by directly specifying to verified brokers where they would like to sit and how much they want to pay
  • Two-way communication between the user and broker to bring back the person-to-person relationship that has been lost in the industry's tendency to automate the sales process
